I just removed my front and back windows, It was loads of fun. :yup: my question is about the 1/4 inch rubber seal that's glued on the rim. I presume that it's for the glass to rest on so it's not sitting on the metal rim. The back glass had it all the way around, the front, I think was only around the top half, don't know because of all the goo that was remove.
    1. does it go all the way around ?
    2. where can I get the 1/4 inch seal.?
    3. I only found 3 metal glass spacers at the bottom of front glass, is that enough.?
    4. can the head liner still be installed later after I have the glass put back in. ?

I have worked on a lot of cars in my 53 years, this is my first windshield. I know I know,,, what took me so long.

don't know why it's there...the 4 windshields I've had replaced didn't have it...the glass sits inside the rubber seal.
the headliner...need to find someone that has done it before...it ain't easy to make it look right.

The rubber seal goes all the way around the glass. Not sure what you are seeing that is 1/4". ????

You really need to do the headliner NOW and then put in the glass. If you look, the headliner wraps around the pinch weld of the car. No way to get the headliner around the pinch weld with the glass in the car.

You should be able to get bedding tape from glass shop but you don't really need it.
My Maverick had two spacers, some people said theirs have four.
The headliner needs to be installed before the glass

Did you use bedding tape around the whole rear winshield or did you just apply it on the bottom side?

This is just the cleaned up and painted stage. Will be working on the head liner next week. I was advised that the tape is not needed. Ill trust that to the guy that will be installing the glass. I have had enough of the goo for this job. I'm better at tinting glass. As you can tell by the $40 in wasted tint.
