Starting a thread to document my progress on my 71 Grabber. My Maverick was my first car. My dad purchased it for me in 1996 and we rebuilt it together. A 11 year stint away from Texas left the car is in sub par shape. A few weeks ago I put a battery on it, replaced a piece of fuel line and it started right up. I have no begun to address things on the car itself. The valve stem seals are barely there. Pieces have begun to come apart and I have found a few chunks under the valve covers. I plan on replacing those this week. Below is a quick list of things that need to be addressed prior to putting it back on the road. My goal for the car is to just make a nice weekend cruiser.

    1. Valve Steam Seals
    2. Transmission is leaking (shifts great, currently trying to figure out where it is coming from)
    3. Front and rear brake shoes need to be replace and the drums turned.
    4. New brake lines (the current ones have begun to dry rot and are a rock away from coming apart)
    5. Wheel and tire combo (leaning toward AR500's)

Stem seals came in... I thought that I ordered a complete set but evidently I ordered only the exhaust seals. Time to get online and order the intake seals.

My wife ordered me a new set of valve covers and air cleaner (matte black ford racing) for my 32nd B-day!
