I just purchased a 71 Grabber and wasnt told that the keys dont work to unlock the doors so now I am locked out.

First of all, does anyone have any idea how I could get in?

Second, I need some advice on where to get some new door locks. I was thinking about visiting Auto Krafters.

You can get a coat hanger in there and unlock the door lock if it has a nub at the top to grab ahold of. If not, a slim-jim as suggested or bust the window out. Once you get it open, remove the door lock and take it to a locksmith. He can make you a key for it.

If you can't get it yourself, it's a lot cheaper to pay a locksmith to open it for you before you go breaking out windows. They charge about $30 here and they come to you. It's worth making a phone call anyway.

Most locksmith's now can make you a key on the spot, 30 bucks to unlock it and 30 bucks to make you a set of keys...pretty cheap IMO...good luck
BTW...thats M-F during regular business hours...be prepared to pay double otherwise.

    Thanks for all the advice.
I ended up getting a coat hanger in the back wing window and opening that, then taking the back wing out and reaching my hand in and unlocking it.

that still doesnt make up for the fact that my keys dont work in the lock.
I have never heard of the locksmith coming and making keys on the spot, but now that its open, I should run by there tomorrow and get a set of keys made.

    thanks again!

Ok, so when I get some new door locks, what is the easiest way to get into the doors without messing everything up. My doors are almost mint inside and I dont want to screw them up.

    Thanks!
