Three year warranty. They describe it as Which sounds like a step down from chrome, to me. Anyone dealt with the stuff, or even seen it? Any opinions?

Well if the chrome don't hold up its still aluminum underneath so you could always strip away the remaining chrome and polish the aluminum....or you could just get the polished aluminum ones and polish it to look like chrome.
PVD = physical vapor deposition. You've most often seen it on small plastic parts and blingy headlight reflectors. It's cheaper for them to mass produce it.. but as with anything.. you get what you pay for. Think of it as another variant of that magical spray on chrome that's become so popular lately. All of these coatings are really thin and not necessarily the best choice for wheels, IMO. I was afraid that was what this stuff was like. Looks good, but not going to hold up to getting hit with rocks, torque wrenches, etc.
Gene, I decided against the 17" rims for now. Gotta pay my taxes and save up some more money before I get new rims. Working today on figuring out if I can get away with 215/60 on these old rims, or if I will need 205/60s...
Some of our new vehicles have this coating on the wheels. They seem to be very sensitive to solvents and acid based wheel cleaners. I don't get the impression that it is very durable at all, at least not any better than paint.
