i saw a forum made by a transmission guy named pauls i hope he finds this he seemed knowledgeable i have a c4 in my 67 stang that i can manually shift from 1st to 2nd but won't leave first when put into drive so i don't get 3rd at all manually shifting and don't even get 2nd when put into drive slot there is good connection to my mv with no fluid sucking into the line my fluid levels don't change from cold to warm up at all what is this?
well i was told its a 70s model c4 the pan i thought was kinda small like an inch deep but does have the 11 bolt pattern important nowhere near a transmission guy lol

from Northeastern Pennsylvania I thought I remembered my 70 Maverick coming stock with an oddball automatic - not a C4 but something different
i was going to give it a shot replacing it and possibly the filter inside the pan just for good measure yea i later read last night his last post on here hope all is well with him.i really hope this is a simple fix though otherwise it maybe byebye c4 hello c6 and sorry guys important not a maverick man i have a 67 mustang this forum site just looked like the one i could get answers from.
It sounds like you have a Green Dot or White Dot transmission. When you put the shifter in Drive...the car starts off in 2nd gear then shifts to 3rd. '67 was the last full year production of this transmission, some 68's might could had this transmission.
