Before We gasket up I want to make double sure we have the right water pump. Is there a way to tell between the reverse rotation and a standard rotation pump? We have a mock bolt up done and everything seems good but I have a strange feeling and want to make sure it correct, I hate doing things twice (again).
Any insight from someone more experinced than myself?
    Thanks, Mitch

you could take the plate off the back and look at the impeller. i cant think off the top of my head as to how it would look. you should be able to think it out. the crank rotates couneter clockwise when your looking at the front of the motor so the the pumps impeller should work going that direction.

Ill pull the pump off its just mocked up with two bolts, pull the backing plate and check out the impeller. so what it boils down to is belt rotation and impeller push? I can see the difference in rotation between serp belt and v grove belt drive, and how the pulley is drivin.weather it is drivin over the top which would be a standard rotation or drivin under the bottom which would be reverse rotation.Am I correct in my thinking? I know better than to ask my wife that question!! A little sunday morning humor for all you married guys out there. :rofl2:

Well we have the pump here looking at it it is a stock oem pump. The wster chambers look just like the standard flow pump but the heater hose configerations and radiator outlet looks like the reverse rotation. So , Im not sure just how to tell from the impeller. The impeller looks like a6 bladed star that has a finger that extends downward, the impeller blades are pie shaped. Im assuming the water is caught in the pie agaist the finger and pushed into the pump housing does this sound right?
