I ned a bit of help here. I did the straight 6 to 302 swap this past weekend and in the process, the trans line got jacked up so I just cut them off. Does anyone know where I can get pre-bent metal replacement lines? I guess I could just bend them myself or possibly run rubber trans hose from what's left. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I would spend some time and bend new one's. Run them up to a "good quality" trans cooler, using the supplied hoses with the kit. Will help keep the tranny in one piece, for many more miles, I recommend using Castrol type F fluid too.
I agree with Old Guy on this one. I wouldn't try running rubber hose unless you were going to buy the braided lines with the fitting on them. Much more expensive than bending new lines. You should be able to get a 4 ft section of 3/8 tubing which will put the line just a few inches away from the radiator. You can run a short section of rubber hose to connect up the the radiator or cooler if you use one.
