:bananamanI am new at restoration and to here.. Just Banannas about Mavericks. Rick Need : "Seat-Back" (METAL FRAME) to fit 1975 Mav. Grabber. Details : bucket-type, driver's side, folds forward and/or backward, "UP" or "DOWN" headrest. Color not an issue. I also have the actual seat-base, headrest and all hardware. Metal Frame must be in excellant to good working condition. Padding is also prefered to be in somewhat of a good condition.
Thanks, you got a nice comet. I lucked-out and became the 3rd owner of a sweet little 1976 Maverick Grabber w/ all original parts, engine and trans rebuilt, well taken care of (except the 2nd owner let his large dog get on the top and crushed it in). Other than that (Well...he did let the heater coil freeze....so I spent 3 months tearing into the dashboard & assembly, replaced the htr coil....and restored everything inside the dash area while it was apart.)...but still in pristine condition....especially the interior looks new. Body paint is still original yellow...as well as all the Grabber decals intact. Just needs some body work, new paint and decals, then it will look brand new all over !
Thanks for the welcome. Just bought a 1975 Mav Grabber w/ 302 A.T. on floor...nice ! I am 3rd owner. First owner was a Ford Mechanic and took great care of it (Interior looks new). 2nd owner had engine and trans rebuilt....but let his large dog sleep on top and crushed it in....plus while in storage he let the heater core freeze...so I got it pretty cheap from him...he did'nt want to mess with the htr core. Original yellow paint w/ Grabber decals....everything is pristine...just need bodywork, paint, and new decals.
whats up iam the 3 owner the 1 owner was my dad he got the car as a grad gift when he past i was going throught some stuf and found the sales slip got the vin and got a carfax and found the owner and sent him a letter and told him that i would like to buy it and he said he would sale it for 500.00 and i went and got it and brought it home
Hey...cool...thats honoring your Dad. My son and I have built a good relationship with one another by restoring his 1976 Maverick w/250 eng. as a joint project. The 1975 Mav. Grabber w/ 302 is my little toy. Try J.C. Whitney catalog for some restoration stuff that is fairly inexpensive.....but be carefull because some of their stuff is junk....so buy stuff that is advertized as custom made (i.e. interior trim, etc.) A really great place for original parts and/or after market parts that are exact replacements can be found online at Autokrafters.com and they are fairly priced.
