I think 300 is a little high, especially if you are thinking to the wheels. Although I could also be wrong. Congrats on the car.

I hate pintos...Even if they're made to be fast.

Heck, you can make a farm tractor fast if you put enough money into it, but it still won't be a cool car...

opinions are like............everybody has one just show a little respect even if you do not like the other guy/gals opinion.

ps pintos may not be the best looking car but they are still better than some

Much better than a ... chevy Monza...what a pos. Had one for a while, paid $20 for it, and that is about what is was worth. Even with the 305 it wouldn't go. That was back in my Any Car days.

Well since this is a MAVERICK message board, I don't see any reason why I should have to respect a Pinto or any other car. It's not like I would get on here and bash Mavericks. If people want to talk about how much they like Pintos, they should do it on a Pinto message board. It's no different from someone posting on a Camaro forum about how much they like Mavericks.

Oh, and "opinions" are what a message board is for...

Hey, bash anything you want. It's a free country.

Some people on this board are pretty damn sensitive, and if you want to solicit advice from strangers, best to thicken the hide.

    Pinto

    Hey T.L.

I just became the proud owner of a drag pinto:confused: luck me right!
I have to admit it's not a very pretty car but I'm sure after the boys at the local vo-tech school get done with the body and I rebuild the motor and tranny I should make a 1500 to 2000 on it.

Wait a minute this thing just became a lot better looking:D

You have to love it when you get a GREAT deal on something
even if it's not your cup of tea.

Back in the late 70's and early 80's I had a warmed up Pinto, a lot of fun. Grabber blue panel wagon w/ a 289, Toploader 4-speed, 8 in. rear w/ 3.25 gears, snorkel hoodscoop, loud sidepipes, big & little tires. You could get it sideways in 3 gears. :bananaman

I can still remember some bozos trying to run me in their Dodge Daytonas! :D

Noone probably cares about my two cents but if you build it, love it, and drag it. Then no matter what it is it will always be classic to you. Who would ever think there would be a huge maverick following. Besides, werent these stripped down economy cars that were probably intended to be grocery getters. My grandmother considered the mavs a cool car. But hey, i llove em.
