Well, after putting my new roller motor together, I find that .060 over really does make much more heat. I would like to put a side/cross flow rad in my Mav, but am having a hard time locating the right width and height. I have found Griffin, but I still have not won the lottery, and x-wife gets all my car money I found that 92 Plymouth Laser was about the right size, but would like to ask some PROS, I have not done much on the conversion side. Thanx in advance
I squeezed a 19x26 (overall) Crossflow in mine with a little crossmember trimming. Radiator cost me $149 a set of universal brackets for $15 which I modified and bolted to the stock bolt locations. So far so good.
I went from a stock 2 core radiator, to a 3 core (stock) when I bored my 302 .030....Have never had any overheating problems. I also put in a trans cooler. Maybe that is helping keep it cool also. When I got mine, it was around $250.00. My brother just checked on one for his 73 Maverick 302, they are now pushing $325.00 (stock).
I bolted a 3 core radiator in mine right off the shelf 250.00 best investment I ever made. my car runs around 190-200
