Well I cleaned the Mav up and went out to the monthly cruise in at the Peach outlet tonite . Probably 70 cars there I was the only Maverick.
I had a few people tell me about the last cruise when there were three or four of them parked in a row and how neat it was to see that many together (They were talking about Frank,Chris,Earl, and Kelly:) ).

Anyway when I started to leave I was rolling slowly through the lot I had a guy walk right up to ny window and say "Hey Nice car ,do you want an extra hood for it?" I said "Well yea I guess so" He said "I`ve got alot of car junk at my house that my dad and I are trying to get rid of so if you want the hood you can Have it." "I said How much do you want for it" He said "Nothing man you can have it ,we dont need it. My aunt used to have a maverick and her husband was fixing it up for her and she decided to just sell it before they ever finished it." He gave me his name and number and told me to come get it today. THen he said "Oh yea its the sport hood with the two holes in it." I play it cool and told him I`d be out to pic it up today.

When I got there his dad said "It`s around here behind the camper ...Sorry we dont have the inserts to go with it...IT was purchased NEW and we never bought the scoops for it or had it painted"

Sure enough there it was ...a Brand new Grabber hood...never been painted,or mounted on a car! He Reached inside the old camper and handed me a NEW front chin spoiler and said "Here you can Have this too ,I`m glad we found someone who can use this stuff.":bananaman

Then he asked his son to go get that complete New GRABBER decal kit out of the shed and give it to me too! They could`nt Find it but said that they would look for it and call me when they find it. He said "Yea its the whole kit with the hood stripes, side stripes and all ...they are the black stripes." I thanked them and we talked cars for a while ,and I was on my way home with the FREE NEW PARTS ! :bananaman  :bananaman

The Hood does have a light coating of surface rust that you can see in the picture if you look carefully ,but its nothing serious.(factory primer cant last forever!) On the bottom of the hood there is a stenciled on factory part number still visable
