i,ve had some problems with my left knee and have been off work for over three weeks now. been waiting for an mri and getting the usual runaround. yesterday i told my wife that my knee was really feeling better. last night as i walked to the bedroom something popped and i fell to the floor. took about 10 minutes to get up using some old crutches i had. went to the emergency room, stayed until about 2:30 in the morning. i've got a long brace on my leg and can't walk without crutches now. got an mri scheduled for 4 pm tomorrow. after being rained out a couple of weeks in a row, tomorrow is the first race again. supposed to be nice. my car is at the track in the trailer. wife and i are going down tonight to bring it home. race 2 & 3 are scheduled for the morning and the afternoon of 4/9. so i guess i'll be out at least 3 of the 8 team races. and since the et finals are going to be in phoenix this year, slots are going to be very limited. thanks for listening. i've got to lay down for a while. pain pills are kicking in again.
Geez Don that's the pits, I'm sorry to hear that... It's one thing to have car probs keeping ya from racing and quite another having the ole bod giving ya problems. Good Luck and keep your head up...there's plenty of racing yet to be done.
Geez Don, that's terrible. I've had knee trouble myself and I know how much it can hurt. As far as racing goes, that gives you the rest of the season to test and tune so next year you'll be a leg up (so to speak) on the competition. Chin up Bud.
I'm very sorry to hear the news, Don. I hope your much better by the time you read this. Please keep us informed on the prognosis. Best o' Luck
Don, I'm sorry to hear that and I wish I could say some magic words that would at least make feel totally ok about the situation. I have arthritis in my knees and I just thought I had problems. For some reason, mine don't feel so bad right now. I praying for a quick recovery.
went to the track and picked up the car and trailer. wife had to drive both ways. had all i could do to just sit there. guys at the track tied the car down and loaded my scooter and hooked it up to the truck for me. i told the wife as we were leaving that that was what made drag racing so special. the people. i could be at any track in the country and every one would be willing to help if your in a jam. my wife had only driven the truck and trailer once before, on our way home from picking it up in ft. worth. she did pretty good. only smoked the brakes once. ha-ha. going for an mri at the hospital this afternoon. i'll try to get the pictures of the car on here, i think it turned out pretty good. just changed over to dsl this week so should go pretty easy.
Don; hope that you get will soon. Racing can wait, just get the knee in good working order for next year. Be praying for you!!!!
Hate to hear of your injury. Hope you can get over it soon. Modern day Docs can do things unheard of just a few years ago, so maybe your recovery time will be short. Just gives you more time to be on here with us now .
