problem with starting

    when i turn my car over the silonoid just makes a grinding noise but it never turns i've changed the starter and the silonoid:huh: please let me know if yall have any input

    Poor battery connections or a weak battery. Make sure you have a good ground from the engine to the fender apron.

    Yep, battery could be dead or all the connections need cleaned.

    Grinding noise from solinoid??????? souds more like a starter problem- maybe the wrong one! Do you a a c-4? Check to be SURE you have the right starter for your tran/flywheel.

    I would check the starter when it is out of the car to see if it works right. If it does I would check to make sure it is the right starter and that it is going all the way into the engine. The grinding noise might be the flywheel.probly not but could be. Are the teeth eat up on the flywheel ?

    it was the batt just a quick easy fix

    It's not really a grinding noise it is the solenoid giving you the old Raspberry due to low current flow. The noise is the armature bouncing back and forth rapidly inside the solenoid.
