Ok guys here are the pics of the 302 I installed in my car, I have been slowly building it for about 5 months. I got it in last night about 11:00 and after going to the parts store this morning for a hose, I fired it up. The motor turned over about 3 times and she fired up. I set the timing and adjusted the carb and took her around the block...............WOW what a difference a V-8 makes ! I came back and broke in my cam and checked for leaks and went over every nut and bolt and retightened the plugs. I'm going to the muffler shop tomorrow and get some 2 1/2 pipes and turbos put on it. Enjoy the pics. :D Oh, I've been asked about the headers I used, the are 66 vintage Shelby Tri-Y and they fit great with a floor shift, still plenty of room to change plugs too.

    Cool!
I have always wondered if the Tri-Y's would fit.
Can you post a few pics of underneath with the
    headers?
    It looks nice.

    Exhaust installed

Well I went and got my exhaust installed this morning, the tri-y headers have no collectors on them so I had them use those new band clamps on the front for easy header removal when changing starters. 2 1/2 tubing into 18 inch X 3 1/2 round turbo tubes (I call them glass packs but he said they had no glass in them) A guy got them installed on his car and said they were too loud and got them removed two days later, so I got them for 20.00. they are turned down at the differential. They did a VERY nice job and only charged me 90.00 for all of it. It sounds awsome, now I can hear the cam thump a little more. The fan I installed on the car is really noisy, sounds like a jet taking off when you floor it so that has to go. I will probably install my electric fan to free up some extra HP. I also found a tranny leak around the pan, I knew I should have used some silicone on it, oh well guess I'll get greasy tomorrow. I think my wife has become acustomed to the exhaust, gas and oil I have been reaking off for the past week. :D I'll post some pics when it's on the rack tomorrow. :jack:

Sounds good but dont drive over a dirt field with those turn downs. I'v been to car shows before where the field are half grass and dirt. Turn downs kick up alot of dust.

Do not use silicone on your transmision pan. It will come loose on the inside and plug up your filter. Never use silicone where it can get into filters or strainers. It is a good product. Just use it wisely I have been a heavy equipment mechanic for 35 years and have seen the effects of silicone many times.
