I've just installed a set of new front coil springs on my 200ci maverick, which i bought from autokrafters. The problem i'm having is its sitting very high and is as solid as a rock. The only movement is coming from the tyres. Has anyone else had the same problem and whats the best way to fix it?
Are you sure they didn't send you V8 spring's. Wire size and spring rate's will vary from certain car's and engine's.
Might not ever settle though. On all cars I have put new springs on....I have always had to remove them and cut them down. This includes cheap springs from Espo Springs and Things as well as the high dollar OEM springs from Eaton Detroit Springs.
I changed the whole set up all new parts the only thing that was original is the sway bar and and the spindals. I ordered them from autokrafters and had them sent to me in the UK via a friend from the US. I asked for 200ci 6L maverick springs. I'll see if they settle down if not i might go with the idea of cutting them down a little. Or i might see if an V8 will bring it down. Thanks for your help and ideas
The bushings could be binding up. Did you tighten the control arm pivots while the car was in the air?
Yes I think i did. Once the springs and everything were on. I might loosen a few things off and try. I do remember trying to compress the springs it took alot of effort. My middle aged and slightly over weight friend was getting a right sweat on.
