Thanks, Ken, for posting the pictures of the XR7 convertible. It is not exactly new, just new to the shows, this being it's first since it's rebirth. I say rebirth because I rescued this car from a salvage yard back in 2002 and began breathing life back into it. It was a restoration project gone bad ending up in the salvage yard after the owner's death. It was there for 2 years before I found out about it in 2002. I got the rust free car, with original M code #'s matching drivetrain and title for $350. From Junkyard to Jewel!

Despite the cold weather, over 800 cars showed up for the show. Barry Mequiar, where were you? You could have seen some real Car Crazy Guys today!!

You have very good taste, the comet belongs to Chip (president of the C.A.M.E.O. car club) it's a wicked nice beauty with a 427 fuel injected stroker in it.....

Very nice Cougar Jim! The red one beside it, is that a 67-68 ragtop? I don't think I've ever seen one that model that I can remember....

The '68 Cougar convertible belongs to a long time friend of mine, Barry Margolis, of Boca Raton. He like cars that a little different and also owns a '70 Eliminator clone convertible and a '77 Cougar station wagon. It is a conversion using mostly '67 Cougar GT parts with a Mustang top assembly. It is basically one of the cars that Ford never made, a '70 Eliminator convertible being another. I never knew they made a Cougar wagon until he bought one. Nice conversion powered by a 351/ 2-4's.

My XR7 convertible is a 7 year of and on again restoration. This one was my biggest and most satisfying challenge of all my projects. It looks better in person. Thanks for the comment.

I just went to Legendary Ford magazine's forum site. On the bottom of the forum listing, there is "free to view" that has an article by Jeff Ford on the Silver Springs show with a picture of my XR7 convertible and saying that Jeff is going to be doing a feature on it later. He did mention it to me at the show, but I didn't expect him to show a photo of it in the article. He liked the "Junkyard to Jewel" story of the car. That's exciting!!

Congrats Jim, Two years running for you.. And to think last year you were on the fence about bringing the sprints because you thought they were not ready to show.. Now three of your cars will be featured...

It's coming along faster than I expected. It hurts if I sneeze or if my belt buckle digs in sitting up straight at the diner table so I have been slumping in the chair or unbuckling my belt. It’s been itching a lot the last few days so I guess that’s a good sign that it is healing. Thanks for asking.
