Got all of the former owners stuff out of the car. She was a school teacher and a serious pack rat. I pulled about 15 card board boxes full of packing peanuts out of the inside of the car and bags of yarn from the trunk. I aksed her husband if he wanted me to bring the stuff back and he flatly stated NO! lol
This lady bought the car new and drive it to school and back as a teacher.
I looked at the odometer and it is sitting around 70k. I am betting after looking at the gas and brake peddle that it is accurate. I think my little 72 Maverick has 70,000 some odd miles on it. Not that it really matters.
My old 71 F!00 has rolled the odometer 3 times now and I wouldn't sell her.
Sure am looking forward to tearing into this thing.
I will be bugging you people something awful with questions.
    Clint

I found out that a little washing will get rid of all of that mossy green look from sitting so long. Believe me - I know. :biglaugh:

Yeah, I plan to get the pressure washer out tomorrow sometime and blow some of the grime off of it. I'll be carefull not to blow any holes in it. lol
I am happy with my Maverick and think that as long as I can learn how to cut out rusted metal and replace it with pretty and straight I will be alright. lol Not much to ask for it is? lol
I see some bucket seats, floor shifter, Nice 15" wheels and a nice thumpy 302 in my distant future. Anybody want to buy a non locked up 200ci? lol

Got the pressure washer out today and blew most of the gunk off my new Gal. I sure am happy with her. We had a good talk and I told her how I still have the 1st vehicle I ever got at 15. I think we will have a very good relationship. Yeah, I know I am about half baked and get pretty sentimental about my cars or trucks.
I honestly think I could have this car running in a day if I wanted to. I could be driving it in a couple of days but that is not what I want to do. I have plenty to drive. This car is going to be the Hot-rod I never had. After all, my kids bought me this car.
It will have a 302 that is built enough to put a nice sounding cam in it. A 4 speed or 5 if I can swing it. It is going to have enough rumble too it that no matter what I pull up next to they are going to HAVE to look over and see what it is then do like this whn I mash the go fast peddle :yahoo:lol
Now all I need is money. lol Anybody need any cabinets or entertainment centers built? Looks like I have to do some work.
    Clint

Nice!! I've got a 302 out of my brother's '72 Grabber I would trade you for that 200/c4. It's tired (smokes), but it is a running engine.

I'll have to think about that Jamie. I'd still have to find the frame mounts, tranny and other pieces needed.
Chirt, sure looks like the same car except a few dents I luckily don't have.

I got the old girl into the shop today and got the front carpet pulled back.
NO rust through at all and most of the paint is still there.:bananaman
Not sure why. This car has sat in an open field since 1984 and both times I looked at it there was standing water in both front floorboards. Old fellow even had 2 pans sitting in there to catch the water but they were both overfilling.
Now to get the seats out so I can see what the back floors look like. I am hopeful they are good as well.
