Im smack in the middle of a 302 conversion and i am really leaning toward putting a side pipe exhaust system on it. Has anyone else done this and if so what side skirts did you use (if any)? ive only seen a few mavs with side pipes and the most popular one i see over and over is the red brazilian mav.

The '70s are over. I know it's a 70s car, but some things should remain in the past.

The Maverick side pipe covers are available in Brazil. You can get Mustang style side pipe covers, but you will need to shorten them. Also, the rocker panel needs to be cut into.

A few members on here have done side pipes (not side pipe covers). Search for side pipes, side exhaust, etc.

I tend to agree with this.

    To each his own.

Otherwise.. you need to replace those big-n-littles(wait.. are those bias plys on the back of your car?.. lol).. with some "18's and low-pro's".

    Technology marches on, right?

I had them for a while. Liked the look and sound. Have to jack the back up a bit or they will occassionally hit stuff. Couldnt use them with long tube headers so i got rid of them.

These were Patriot brand, 2nd largest size (i don't remember if they were 60 or 70 inches). The largest ones would likely look better.

The only side pipes, that I really liked, were the ones on the late 60's/early 70's Corvette Stingray that came out from under the front fenders as seperate pipes and rolled up into the sidepipes with the leg guards (y)

That pic is about 12 years-old. I have Magnums with 235/60s on there now.

as cheesy as it may be, im comtemplating one sidepipe on the passenger side of my 6 cyl car for kicks and giggles.
