Was just surfing and ran across a few nice Mav pics. Dont knwo if you guys have seen themor not but take a look see. Maverick[3-6] on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Why is it the Brazilians have access to so much Maverick stuff, and us in the US (where the Mav is made!!!) cannot find this stuff? They have a variety of grills, ground effects/air dams, those side-pipe thingies, all kinds of stuff.
I don't know, but I don't like them. The car would need ground effects around the back of the car to even them out, and then it would just look ricerish IMO.
Here's a possible reason, made a year or 2 longer, also Warmer climate less effects from winter ( rust) , Maybe, just a theory, plus more competeion for people's hearts and minds up here with SOoo many different car makes madels years to choose from. I wonder haow many Camaro's Mustangs etc are down, there, probbably more fuel efficent cars are the majority, the Mav is a good compromise.
I tried to write some of those Brazilian guys to get info on a chrome (real chrome, not plastic with chrome paint) grill. I can't find anyone who speaks english, or, they just don't want to share... Anyone know Portuguese, or the Brazilian version they speak? It would be nice to get into their supplies for our use I had a kid in my school from Brazil, but he graduated a couple years ago and I lost track of him... Whoever gets into their supply could have a single-handed american supplier of "quality" maverick parts that nobody else has.. :evilsmile
Mavericks were considered muscle cars in Brazil and they were used in racing. As a result, there was an aftermarket for Maverick parts in Brazil. There was none in North America as the Maverick was an economy car and all we got was fake scoops and stickers. Take a look at the photo gallery to see the Brazilian Mavericks in racing action and take a look at this link for its history. http://maverick.to/np-foreignmav2.shtml
