a 6a will work just fine. the L is just a rev limiter. you only need that if you risk over reving by missing a shift in a manual car or your engine is so built up that it will hit the redline rpm faster than you know it. most motors valve springs are too worn out to allow the motor to really over rev anyways.

The only difference between the MSD 6A and 6AL is the 6AL has a rev limiter built in.

Why not get the limiter? Cheap insurance an may come in handy later.

I love my 6AL and the limiter. I have it set for 7800. Blew the tranny on the 1-2 shift last week. I shift it at 6200+ and the engine went up very fast, after that. Not sure what it went to. Guess I should go to the replay on the tach.:)

Got the batteries back in today. Checked the recall on the tach. When the tranny went the tach went to 7800rpm's. Without the 6AL I'd be buying a new engine. :)

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
the MSD SF module is the same price as the mallory 6A and comes with a revlimiter.

that does look like a good deal. i dont know if its what homermav requires. his question implyes that he is cost cocscious.

um never heard of a msd sf ignition. and he was asking about msd 6a not mallory 6a
