Stardate 24th July 2006 In Little Rock right now on the way to see the "Ghost of Elvis on Union Avenue" (Marc Cohen song). We'll there overnight and then onto Nashville for a night or two. So far, no problems. The Durango and the Big Tex Trailer haul the Maverick pretty smoothly at 75 mph! Will check in later.
Rick, check out Grey Line tours in Nashville they will put you on a bus and take you to the spots, beats finding your way around. http://www.grayline.com/franchise.cfm/action/details/id/125
nashville when in the area its a must to go to secound ave. have a beer at ever bar you come to, and see if you can still find your hotel room..
I find this to be a sound piece of advice. That has "me" written all over it . Good luck with your journey Rick. Jamie
Thanks for the tips guys! I'll definetly check into the links and 'other things). We went to SUN STUDIO today. I must admit, it was pretty neat to see the old place and get a case of the chills listening to recordings that were made in that one old room. We stopped off at the Hard Rock Cafe on Beale Street after that. Since nothing was going on at that time of day, we decided it'd be best if I took an "Old Man Nap" and go back tonight to listen to some live music. If I'm typing, I must be up. If I'm up, I must be ready to hit the town! btw, Live Beale Street Cams at http://www.earthcam.com/bealestreet/ (and other sites believe). I'll be the guy with the big grin on his face walking with a redhead. Maverick Dan, PM me your telly number and I'll call you when we go back through LR next Sunday. I'll give you a shout if it's not too early or late. Look forwarding to meeting you if all works out. "Thank ya, Thank ya very mush."
Man, Sun studios is just the coolest vibe. I was there in 89. Memphis is just full of the blues,, I gotta go back. Dan
We survived Beale Street! It was rockin' pretty nicely for a Monday night. Having lived a few years in N'alins, it reminded me a lot of Bourbon Street. 'Headed to Graceland this a.m., then on to Nashville to make those two records (one "Country" and one "Western" ). Listen for me on your favorite AM station! "Wish you were here!"
My mom went to Graceland back in the late 70's. Everytime we are in Tennessee, she talks about wanting to go back.
