IT is a good thing, I was able to get "924 Mav" for my plates. There is only one 924 Mav in the great Lonestar State of Texas. Mavowar, No worries I have been driving it. It is just getting hot down here no a/c and wearing a suit and tie in the afternoon heat will keep it off the road except for weekends when I have the proper attire on.
Cool ... most states would not let you get a license plate that uses numbers and letters like a regular plate. Wonder if the folks in prison have a little sticky note telling them to skip 924 MAV when they come up to that sequence in the license plate shop.
Why not do a search Actually, I bet you find the answer that way... http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=24881&highlight=924 see post #7
Why not post the answer to the question? It'll keep lazy a**es like me from having to hunt for it. "It is a nickname. When I was 16 I had a 3 speed 69 1/2 170 Maverick as my first car. I had friends that had suped up muscle cars but I never had money to fix my car up. One day in the high school parking lot a bunch of guys were showing off their cars doing donuts and screeching tires and then it was my turn. I had all their attention when I floored my 170 and popped the clutch and got the shortest split second screech and I got applause because I had always been unsuccessful trying to squeal the tires. My friend John who had a Dodge Dart nicknamed my car that day the "924 Mav" after the Porche 924. And we nicknamed his the "Dart 280 Z" after the Datsun 280 ZX." I was googling "924" for the answer - I thought it was sort of like "420".
