Hey folks. I picked up an inertia switch SUPPOSEDLY sold as a replacement part for my 74 mav. This thing only has two wires for connection and the old inertia switch has four coming in to it. I assume the old has 1 ground, 2 that go into one of three terminals which I think lead to the starter solenoid, and 1 that would lead back to the pre-feeder pump. Has anyone else dealt with this before or should I rig the old switch back together and keep pushing the button every time I need to start the car? Lep
yeah, my old beater does...its been a pain in the butt because the old switch has gone bad. Its located near the washer fluid tank and I have to push the button EVERY time I want to start the car...I just tested running the white and red wires into the new switch and leaving the two blue and red wires joined in the old harness...Maybe I have the wrong idea?
it a rectangular box with a red button towards the front of it and a triangular hardness on the bottom?
Could you link the post about the interlock please? I'm having a tough time finding it. I found some pics though and now I feel kinda silly lol
Here you go: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=17734&highlight=strange+yellow+box+ignition I disconnected the wires under the seats in my 74, and never had any issues. Drove that car for 5+ years (and still have it)
