hood replacement

    my hood is slap rust out on the bottom section.id like know should i replace the how thing or get it recovered? it had the paint job before i bought the car, and id hate to spend more money then i have too

    Welcome from Panama City, Florida ......by your avitar looks like you have what is refered to as a flat hood, you can find one here and Frank (71gold) is the man that can help you out being as you are from Georgia, pics are always a bonus as well as knowing where you are located, you may be close to someone who has just what you are looking for.

    thanks, and yes, i found me a hood at the A&B auto parts junkyard. even has e a marker light steering wheel and headlight fixture. so why is mine called flat?

    the green hood is a stock "flat" hood.
    the black is a stock "Grabber" hood.

    It's a term used to describe the different hoods that Mavericks / Comets came with, My car for instance has a Grabber hood on it, it has two scoops (oh jeeze here come the raisin bran jokes) one on each side of the raised portion of the hood, others came with factory scoops on the center portion of the hood (Comet GT) we use the terms to describe and find out what hood someone may want or need, and congrats on finding a hood.
    You never mentioned what part of Georgia you are from....it's ok to say, we are not all stalkers in here!

    ya lol mines flat. i don't know too much bout cars, reason i came here, so if i need help i'm sure this would be the place to ask. i bought mine for 1200, so even though the paint job looks nice, you should never judge a book by its cover. i have a lot of cosmetic work to do.
