Hey there everybody. I've got a question. Does NEbody know what in-dash recievers, if any, will work w/ a '71 Mav? I'm looking to put in a CD player w/ radio. If an in-dash won't work, what other options are there? Thanks for ur help!

Isabel, please do not cross post the same message to different forums. I have deleted your duplicate posts.

I will offer two solutions that I'm aware of that you'll
want to check out, both from Custom Autosound.

    1) http://www.custom-autosound.com/prodFam.php?CatID=2

These are modern stereo units made to fit in
(both aesthetically and physically) older cars.
They make one to fit eariler Mustangs and that
might fit the Mavs. A quick call to them would
    settle that: (800) 497-0797

I also believe you can add a CD changer to
    some of these models.

    2) http://www.custom-autosound.com/secretaudio.php

Secret Audio - This is one of my favorites!

You simply leave your stock radio in place and
this system installs either under the seat or in
the trunk and is controlled remotely. CD changers
are availalbe for it as well.

    I hope this helps!

Yes, these work pretty well. My favorite is the iTrip.
However, there is quite a loss in sound quality overall
and if you're in an area that's dense with radio stations
it can be hard to keep a lock that doesn't have leakage.

Personally. I'm looking into the Secret Sound setup with
a direct in for my iPod.

    Beat that BMW! :D

If you can find a decent two post radio, it will fit in your maverick after you grind off the offset in the mounting lugs on your factory bracket. If you are already grinding, you can just cut a din sized hole in the factory bracket and any din cd player will fit.

If you want an in-dash CD you will have to cut the center out of the radio bezel to fit a single DIN mounting. Pretty much any reciever will then fit, I installed a Kenwood AM/FM CD in my '70. I cut my bezel out with a Dremel tool. Worked out great as the new Stereo lines up nicely with the raised chrome trim on the bezel.

Most of Custom Auto Sounds products are made for Mustangs and T-Birds so the emblems may look odd in your Maverick. If stock appearance is your goal then Secret Audio is the way to go.

Check out www.crutchfield.com if stock appearance is not an issue
