Funny thing just happened, thought i would google jeff ford about the rrs comet, and one of the searches came up with these posts we've been writing. Another search came up with a photo of a mid 60's comet here in Perth.I got to talking to the guy who owned it about a year ago at a small car show.He belonged to a mercury club, when i told him about my car he said he had'nt seen one before and that his was the only comet he had heard of in Perth.
Well the new RRS struts and disc brakes are on their way, have been waiting for about 5 weeks for them to arrive. Body is being stripped and sanding has started, so it is all go at the moment. Just hope i have got enough money to pay for it all.
car is still lefthand drive, i don't think taillights have been changed. you can tell me once i get some photos up.
RRS Comet Okay, I just searched this site for RRS Comet, lots of threads on it. It was a 71 Comet brought to Australia being built by RRS and Jeff Ford was involved in it. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=16195&highlight=rrs+comet http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=16682&highlight=rrs+comet http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=19719&highlight=rrs+comet http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=19251&highlight=rrs+comet http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=33798&highlight=rrs+comet
Jeff left RRS so the car never got finished. Not sure whar happened to the car. I spoke with Jeff in January at a car show. Seems they screwed him over pretty good.
