Hey, my name's Tony and I own a 1970 Maverick Grabber with a 250. I bought it from an 90 year old women who had originally bought it from Bob Rice Ford in Boise, ID, in September of 1970. It is pretty much stock and really clean, but unfortunately it is currently waiting for a new carburetor, since the old one broke.

Anyways, around here in the Boise area, there aren't very many Mavericks and even less Comets around, but it's cool, because when I drive down the street it's great to drive a car and not see any like yours. But, if there is anyone who lives in the Boise area, or if you know someone who lives nearby who owns a Maverick/Comet, I'd like to know.

    :Welcome: from Northeast Pennsylvania

I used to work for Morrison Knudsen, based out of Boise, Idaho, rebuilding locomotives in Pennsylvania. MK's CEO at the time stole everything that wasn't and was nailed down and that was the end of that.

MK still operates, but it has changed names so many times over the years (I don't even know its current name.) We still have the MK Nature Center, though.

The construction part of M-K is now known as the Washington Group. That CEO tanked a monster of a corporation for sure. M-K was as big as Bechtel and was one of the company's that built the Hoover Dam. Our locomotive rebuilding division was known as M-K Rail and it was the best job that I ever had.
