    73 four door, 74 starsky&hutch mav, a 93SHO, an 03 gt, and a 94 gt
    headed off to work this morning, goin to pick me up a distributor for my ldo today so i can put the steel gear on in the press at work. do i need to heat the gear up before i press it on the distributor shaft??

    i think you need to knock out a pin if im correct? and then work the gears slowly

    Heat up the gear will help BUT just get the gear good and warm and Don't warm up the shaft KEEP IT cool.

    Make sure you get a points distributor, not electronic. Cuz... You know... The gubmit. :16suspect

    well had hell getting my roll pin out of the new model dis, and hell getting the steel gear off. no problem getting the roll pin and gear off of the points dis. only to find that the distributors i have have two different diameter shafts and the points dis shaft is WAY to small for the steel gear. not from heat because i didnt use any
