Well, daughter's on the road in her Mav. Can't get a picture, because she's never home! Maybe today, though. The blower motor is frozen up, (my next thing to do) and it's 35 degrees, so maybe that'll slow her down. She said people keep stopping her to talk about her car. She was getting gas the other day, and this "really old guy, he must have been Dad's age!" (her words) just kept staring at the car, then asked all kinds of questions. She said he never even pumped his gas while she was there. Then, she was working the first window Wendy's,taking the money, and the guy wanted to know who's car was that out back? She said hers, and he said, no, I mean the Maverick. She said hers! He launched into the typical ??? about it. she hears through the headset to quick talking, she's messing up the times(all orders are on a timer, & this one was taking too long!) Funny stuff. She's having a ball. Her radio is her ipod hooked up to Spongebob portable speakers. Apparently they even cover up the whooshing sound from her bad door gasket :rofl2:Radio gets installed on Tuesday.
    Thanks for listening. Rhonda

Mavericks and comets will draw a lot of interest. Some people don't know what they are and others get the nostalgic feeling.:)

Pretty sure the blower motor is gone. It had been making alot of noise when you first turned it on, then the other day, when she turned it on, the cardied. There's a short somewhere, and I just figured the motor was gone. Just got the dash put back together, too. Oh, well, at least I know how it comes apart now.
Her dad decided we (by we I mean I) need to put a kit and a 2bbl on it. He has lots of ideas, just not home to do any of it. OTR drivers are never home enough. I guess I can do that, found the tech sheet someone posted.
Off to see if the air shocks I have here from another child's project car will fit the Mav.:D

May want to be careful w/ those air shocks. Do a search, bad things have happened.

As for OTR truck drivers, my dad did that and still does. Wasn't much of a "dad" other than the money aspect of it... wasn't home much and when he was home, he didn't do much w/ us

I started driving a Maverick in May of 2005 at the age of 17. I have now driven over 82,000 miles behind the wheel of a Maverick and all I can say is tell her to get used to it! These cars attract a lot of attention! :) I've heard countless stories from people about these cars.

    Frank,

Nice find... with the price of gold right now, you ought to be able to finance your next trip to Summit.

Air shocks ... if the car has the typical droopy rear altitude that these get, you would be far and away better off with new springs. A lot of folks like the 4 leaf springs from J.C. Whitney.

If she wants air shocks just to jack it up ... don't. These car are already nose-heavy and getting the back end higher in the air generally makes the handling worse if you still have a soft set of springs in place. It can make the car much easier to get sideways and backwards when you least want it to.

    Rhonda,
test the plug going to the B/M and make sure there is power there. as you know by now, the B/M is not that big of a deal to pull.
i thought mine was bad because it was making one heck of a noise. i got another one and when i pulled mine out, that watch fell out.
I think you are doing a great job...:thumbs2:

I know there's power there, there seems to be a direct short, I guess. It kills everything when I switch it on. I was looking in the chilton's book to see how to get the thing (blower motor) out. I figured we'd wait on the radio install until I fix this.
After reading more about the airshocks, I think I'll wait. Don't want to give her any handling problems. I'm enjoying this, and still having fun!
