Has anyone squeezed in a dual speed fan from a 3.8 Taurus and had enough clearance??? I have one and it fits the radiator nicely(will need some custom mounting), but there is less than 1/4" clearance between the fan motor and water pump, I'm not comfortable with that... I understand there are shorter pumps used on the '91-'93 T-Bird & '94-'95 Stang, but those are reverse rotation and require a specific timing cover so I don't want to hassle with that(even though the 5.0 isn't completely assembled yet)... Also my car has factory A/C that will be retained, so a aftermarket would have to move enough air to keep things cool...

So I suppose my question is, are there any std rotation pumps that have a inch or so shorter pulley mount that I could use the original belt setup??? Yeah I realize I'd need a shorter depth W/P pulley but I actually have one from a big block that I could use if I had the right pump...

Thanks Bryant, that appears closer than mine as I have a tiny bit of clearance...

Frank, any idea what year the fans were??? I think mine is a '95 and is defiantly from a 3.8, I'm guessing a 3.0 possibly used a smaller/thinner fan??? If I remember correctly the 3.0 fans weren't quite as massive and was the reason I pulled one from a 3.8(bought it for my 5.0 T-Bird)... I've had this one probably five or six years so it's a bit foggy now...
