I have a quick and probably dumb question. When I got my Mav the temperature controls were just hanging there so I attached the slider section to the dash with the proper screws. Everything works fine but I can't figure out how the plastic control panel attaches. I can slide it on and it stays there with friction but the second you move a slider, it falls off. Any help would be great. Oh, and there are two bulbs in the slider module. Are they just supposed to light up the slider holes? The plastic control panel isn't transparent so the only light you can see from them is through the holes. Seems kind of pointless if that's all they do. Thanks!
Actually, new plates have 5 pins. They get broke off so easily that most people never see them all. If you have a lighted switch, you have the wrong plate there. The very early models used the one in your picture, with the word FAN above the switch. If you have a light bulb located below your fan switch, you need a plate like this, with the word FAN below the switch.
Cool. Thanks guys. Mine definitely does not have the pins. I figured it was something like that. My car is a '73 so I guess I'll be looking for a later plate with the word "Fan" below the switch.
When you replace the controls with the set in the trunk you will need the older faceplate to go with it.
