Just use one of these ... http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/aspfiles/itemdy00.asp?UID=2004060621420513&T1=C5ZZ18501KIT+01
I heard they are not that reliable. Just my 02. Then again, I don't anyone that has used them personally.
Yeah ... I have no idea how well they work. I think it would work fine for a sunny day show car that only gets wet when it's washed. I would want a daily driver that has to survive in the rain to be fixed properly ....
As long as you base is good, I dont see why they wouldnt work great. Being plastic, you wont have to worry about them rusting again. better check the diameter first before ordering. Otherwise, Your idea sounds good to me.
Frank; sounds like a good plan. If you have something to give you a good, level base, that is rust free, then it should adhere well. See if you can find some of the new panel adhesive I have been hearing about, and see if it will work. Good luck, I'll call you later,
The kit looks great. The problem I see is getting access to the area. How much disassembly is needed? I have thought about cutting the area open in front of the cowl, under the hood. This would save you from taking apart the entire dash. I think that is a huge pain in the neck. Especially if you already have a stiff neck and a sore back! If you can't get to the area to clean out rust and debris, the kit will make it worse. My car needs the same repair.
there is a drain hole at the end of the cowl under the fender. this is what gets stopped up and then it holds water and with the trash and dirt it starts to rust...frank...
It is actually a trough that directs the water to exit out the side of the cowl, right into the back of the rear section of the front fender. Thats also why the bottoms of the front fenders rust out all the time.
Its the only way to fix it right. I see you are in Elkridge. I'm less than 20 minuets away in Crownsville.
Yes I know. Your reputation precedes you. We should meet someday and you can lay some of your Mav wisdom on me.
