Comet/Mav restoration club

    I have been tearing down alot of the 71-72 comets and mavericks lately and selling parts to the point that I end up cutting the entire cars up. I have really been shocked at all differences between the 71 and 72. There are so many small details like wire loom clips, wiring harness differences, etc. I was thinking about documenting all the differences on paper and maybe starting a show car club/website for people interested in 100% factory original cars. Maybe offering a few classes like 600 point and 800 point show cars. I know not many people here are into factory original stuff but these cars are getting old enough that serious collectors are starting to consider them. I think it would be nice too to have guidlines for year correct parts. What do you guys think about it?

    I have thought there was a need for such info since I bought a 72 Grabber with 40k miles that I really want to preserve. It just seems that everyone restomods these cars one way or another I think we should do a poll to see just where the cars line up, all stock or restomod.

    Its a great idea...do it...Once these cars become recognised/valuable as collector cars...LOL... You will be ahead of the curve.People will be coming to you for information on their 500 point rstorations.(Kinda like Kevin Marti)Just remeber that at this point most Maverick/comet owners feel the cars are more valuable in a modified form.I think there is room for 500 point concourse correct Mavs/Comets as well as modified ones.I can definitely appreciate both...

    MMM... It may be interesting...if you got the brains boy...:rofl:
    But seriously if you want to put in the time, and it will probably help some people who are serious about getting it correct. I know that my car is all original & I could go that way, but I want to restomod first, because I like the performance it can deliver. Maybe not a large enough group are interested in that yet, I do not know. But it would be cool to have as much information about these cars.
