If you bought a Maverick carpet it should be premolded for a Maverick floor pan. The problem with mine is that I didn't have enough extra carpet to tuck neatly under all the moldings and kick panels ....

Well, it seems nothing is really fitting very well. I had read quite few threads in the past and everyone seemed really happy. I guess I may have had some high expectations.

I had the same problem with mine. It was a P.I.T.A. and I had to glue the edges down. I think it has to be in the car for a couple of years before it fully takes the shape of the floor pan.

Same with my Escort carpet. It's almost not wide enough and barely tucks under the moldings. What is it with these carpet manufacturers?..

My wife and I just Installed a set of new carpets from Auto Custom Carpets into her `79 Fairmont Futura. I cannot say enough about how well this stuff fits. I just kept staring at it in disbelief! The seat belt holes were already there and in the correct spot along with the front seat bolt holes. I will definatly be ordering the carpet for Both of my Mavericks from them.:yup: (y) :yup:

Their Maverick carpet does not fit nearly as nicely. And none of the holes are pre-cut.

A.C.C. has a great reputation in the automotive restoration hobby; I think they just didn't do as good a job on Maverick carpet as they did on other makes & models...
