battery trouble

    im about to buy a 69 t bird but the car drains the battery and then it dies..any idea whats wrong with it.? could it be the alternator or the regulator

    The regulator will drain the battery when the key is off if it's bad or the wrong regulator.

    Just want to make sure I am clear on this. Are you saying the car runs until the battery is discharged then the car dies.
    If this is the case your alternator is not charging at all, which could be the alternator, regulator or the wiring between them. Take the alternator and regulator to the auto parts store and have them tested.

    If the parts store isn't all that far, you could drive it there, and have it tested while the car is running, get the parts you need and drive it home. This beats removing alternator that doesn't need replaced, or a regulator. I know it's not that hard to remove either way, but its a time saver
