so i got my uca's installed yesterday but that fact that one of the ball joints was loose has been bothering me, the passanger side ball joint was tight and barely movable by hand but the driverside ball joint could be moved easily by hand im tempted to take the driverside back out and send it back for another one, on the other hand i may get one back thats the same way so i might just keep it, should i be worried or am i just paranoid. i got them from mustangs unlimited part# UC67A 02

Is the ball joint loose with the suspension assembled??? Does it have any play??? If so...Definitely replace it...If not, its' your call man...Personally, unless its a low frictionn ball joint...It darn well better be tight right out of the box...

I jerked and yanked on it as hard as i could to be sure and there was no play to be found. im gonna stick with that one, gonna keep a close eye on it tho.

Jack up the side of the car that you suspect the ball joint to be loose on. Jack on the control arm until the tire is about two inches off of the ground. Now take a long pry bar and "Wedge" it under the tire where you can pull up on it. When you pull you should not feel any extra movement other than the springs/strut. Get someone to look at the ball joint while you are applying pressure upward. If they see any movement in the ball joint replace it.

    Hope this helps,
    Bobo
