i seem to see on a few of the pics that people post that the back bumpers on the early 70's are slightly turned up on the ends.my first maverick(when i was 17 ie 26yrs ago) was a 74 so i had never seen the small bumper version, till i started going thru what my lovely bride calls a 2nd childhood and bought my 71.kinda thought maybe my car had had a slight accident in back that twisted the end of the bumper up although i could not find a sign that it had been hit. was this the same kind of design that tilts the front velance downward by the parking lights leaving that little gap for no apparent reason?or do i need to do some tweeking to the back bumper?

The smaller curved bumpers were on the 70' to 72' model years, with the 73' being the intermediate model year, which kept the smaller bumper in the rear and the front bumper being a little larger and then in 74' and up model years the bumpers went to those hugh cow catcher Federal bumpers.
