Anyone know if 73 Mustang seatcovers will work on the Comet. I want to replace mine. The rear is in vg condx. I want to go w/ the cloth inserts I see on the Mustang sites. Thanks, Mojo
Nope, they are different, Mustang seats are not as thick. Fred, makes seat covers to match the stock factory buckets, I'll see if I can find a link.
Hi Dave, Thanks for the information. Im really grateful I found this forum, it has really been helpful. I have been out the hobby for several yrs. I bought the Comet 2 1/2 mos. ago and the info here has saved me lots of time and money by those like you generously sharing their knowledge w/ newbee's like me. I did find a guy on here that makes seat covers and sent him an email <can't recall his name> right now. I want vinyl w/ clolth inserts, I sweat a lot and all vinyl aggrevates matters in hot wx. Anyway, thanks, I see ur quite active here so probably will have pick ur knowledge base again... Mojo
Mojo that hood tach looks familiar is this the Comet GT that the seller said was going to be crushed or parted out if he didn't sell it soon? A Great Looking car none the less.
what Dave said. the only seats/seat covers that will interchange are the 71-72 Grabber/Comet GT highbacks with the 71-73 Mustang high backs the 73-74 Maverick high backs had different foaming and makes them unique (and makes them sit better too )
Hi JN, This Comet was not the one u mentioned. I bought it 2 1/2 mos. ago at the Iola, Wis. swap meet. It has mild 302, at least that's what it was sold to me as. It runs great, no engine oil leaks uses vry little oil. It has modified C4, headers. The hood tach don't work. I plan on leaving it in place but have put in 3" Autometer. I have some new pics I will put up soon. I am workin on putting in new carpet now along w/ new HD stero setup. I think the guy who sold it was intending on keeping it; he just might have run in to a money situation and I was there at the right time... Thanks for the hit and u h ave a great lookin MAV. Mojo
