    im tryin to figure out how many '72 comets came from factory 4dr , 302

    i have been lookin around and cant find anything any help would be appreciated

    no i have one its in rather good condition but needs work the 302 runs pretty good i just need to change the water pump just kinda hard to get money to work on it while in college... i was just wantin to know how many they made

    In the first couple years Mercury used to advertise the V8 option pretty heavily. There were more V8 Comets than Mavs proportionately.... don't know about actual numbers though, and consider that overall there are roughly 5 Mavs produced for every Comet.

    Don't know, but I've seen two of them in the junkyard. One was an LDO car to boot, that someone had replaced the factory 302 with a 200! Only way I knew it was originally a 302, is the frame brace was still in place and the VIN.

    I had one, LDO,302, a/c. Great parts car! Still have most of the good stuff.
