    Hello,
I have a 62 merc comet 2d. I am a big fan of the straight 6's. I was wondering, is it possible to put a 300 6 in my lil comet? I know I can use a 4 spd from a 289 mustang for a tranny and drop a narrow 9 inch in the rear to handle anything i throw at it. but 300's are soo long. Will it fit? I have already converted to an electric "Pusher" fan to make more room. HELP
    Thanks
    Scout

That's not the kind of Comets we deal with here...

What my esteem, blunt, colleague was trying to say is, the Comet you have is on a Falcon platform, whereas this form deals with the 71-77 Comets. They are on the Maverick platform. However, it is possible to put anything in a car if you have the ingenuity, ability or money to do it. The Falcon's engine compartments are even shorter than the Maverick so It will probably require some major cutting to get it in there. I'm sure there may be people on here that can be more specific, but if not, you might get better help on a Falcon message board. Good luck either way.

    Good luck in your project.
