I am trying to find the pics of the cars with the hacked 460 installs. Anyone got them? There were 2 cars with pics posted here a year or two ago. The towers had 3 of the 4 sides cut out to allow the engine to fit. You could see the coil springs, and the plug wires were run through them to get to the side of the engine. At least one had the radiator support cut out to fit the radiator. I have been searching, but can't find the thread/pics. My buddy with the 460 shaved his towers an rewelded it where it would be wide enough. my engine is going to be 3 to 4" out passed my hood. i will porbably put a cowl enduction hood. the way we did are pinto is the way i am doing my maverick, we are just setting the motor in the car and welding mounts, yes i know it is going to be tight when it comes to tune ups, i am just worried about my headers, i have stock manifolds that should clear and work where i could put a exhaust on. i prefer headers.
Here's one of the 460s with the cut towers. If the fit is anything like a 351c, you will have to grind them heavily to get them to fit.
