    The 0L27 is the date code

    0 = 1970
    L = November ("I" is not used)
    27 = 27th day of the month

    Likely built for a 1971 model-year car. I cannot remember if the D0AE-L was Boss 351 or not. Someone else with more info may chime-in...

    According to this site, you have either a Boss 351 block or a Q code block - either way you should have 4 bolt mains which is rare in itself[IMG]

    According to MustangTek, a D0AE-L block with a date code of 0L27 (Nov. 27, 1970) is a Boss 351 block

    Well that site told us pretty much nothing then LOL! I'll have to check my block casting number as I know that mine is a 4 bolt main Q code engine

    I did a couple of searches for D0AE-L 0L27 and I never came up with a solid answer for you - could be this or could be that kind of talk

    A Ford Hi-Po parts identifier I have just says it could be a two or for bolt main block and has thicker main webs... So it could have begin life as a 2bbl version(two bolt mains) in grandmas four door Torino, a 4bbl in a Mach-1 or maybe even as a Boss 351...

    If there is a partial vin on back of block(left cylinder bank) we can determine the plant that installed it, but not that necessarily it was any one specific engine... I'm assuming a Boss 351 registry may have VINs for those cars, could be a chance it's on their list(but I suspect that would have already been checked)...
