You have what is referred to as a 69.5 Maverick debuted in April 1969 - same as when Ford debuted the very early 1965 Mustang in April 1964 - on both debuts things were a little unique in order to get the cars to the dealership early - changes were then made by September of 69 when the 1970 Maverick would have been debuted along with the rest of the 70 line What ids your VIN number so we can add it to the registry here on the forum?
ill get it later im mot home... ibwas originally lookinf for a grabber but when i found this i had to get it lol.....and to top it of I THINK this car is the few 14% that came out with factory ac
i have never restored a car before....so my plans are strip the interior fix un patch on the floor and paint the interior black....after that body and paint....what do yall think???
I never worked on a car before. I watched a lot of YouTube videos, have a Pinto ready to paint, just did the trunk in my Maverick. You should just go for it! It's not that hard, dirty, just not that hard. Now, the mechanicals I'm not doing, I don't like getting greasy to be honest. Ask questions if you have some, but go for it! Pawn shops have a LOT of tools you'll need
Yeah, I went the other way Dan on some projects and rust first on others. The Pinto was cleaning up rust under the paint, weird. The Mustang and Maverick down to metal, both at the same time LOL. The Galaxie interior because it's just a BIG cruiser/driver. You can do the rust first, do your trunk. It's faster than the whole car and gives you instant gratification Some pics of my project. I got started with Dave's brownie, who is now Milo But it becomes additive like collecting guns and about the same price LOL Get that rust first, I did the Maverick in reverse and redid the engine/trans and everything mechanical first. Now it's the hard stuff I LOVE IT! I am doing the Mustang and Maverick strip together. The pics show getting the rust off. They both sat a LONGGGG time, so I use a liquid rust remover after grinding everything I can.
