Mine were a stamped steel acorn nut. I can dig around and see if I can find one. I could not locate any "new" ones when I did my car, all the ones for Mustangs were different.

I have 2 different styles and I thought I was going crazy. Are they both factory? Do you know the size of the pin on the scoop? I am not at home and I am trying to locate some hardware for it.

Mine were factory as far as I could tell, the hood was original paint. They had a tar like sealer on the inside of them, and they cut their own threads. That was the issue I had, all the reproduction ones I found, were machine screw threads.

All of the ones I have seen are acorn nuts as well. I also could not find anything "new" that was the same.

I think Brian may have it, I looked at mine they are B-12939, which at the time were the only one's I could find that even looked similar. Sorry for the crappy phone picture, but this gives you the idea...I left my camera cable on the cruise ship :(

Thanks for the picture. That is what I needed. Does anyone know if the other nut that was mentioned ever installed from the factory? I had one of each type one two different hoods.
