Doing some research here regarding the '70 I will be looking at this weekend. What are the chances of this being an early model with the weaker Falcon Suspension ? Obviously, the plan will be to swap out to a better suspension pending the V8 swap. Just Curious if anyone has some VIN info
There is a VIN list we have been gathering here. There are two separate sections for 69.5 and 70's. You can use the last six digits in the VINs recorded as a guide and compare them to the VIN on the car you're looking at as to whether it's a 69.5 or not, but the ignition switch location will get you the same results. http://mmb.maverick.to/showpost.php?p=994358&postcount=564 Happy Hunting...
I know from pictures that the IGNITION IS IN THE DASH !!! Which I thought was kinda ..... well..... Cool !?
Even if you don't get the car, could you share the VIN with us on the VIN Thread? Always looking for the "Last 69.5".
Besides the dash mounted ignition switch. The search probably also told you that the side marker lights are 1969 style, which are not recessed. Plus, the door data plates are metal tags, not paper stickers.
Where did this weaker suspension BS get started??? Excepting for upper ball joint having FOUR bolts to retain it vs three on later, I don't know of any difference... That four bolt upper control arm is the same as in my 428CJ Fairlane...
