Well, we bought it. Drove about 90 miles, ran great till I blew a tire. No damage, towed it home on a flatbed. I'll try to post pics tomorrow, exhaustd right now.

:Welcome: from Atlantic Canada! Were you able to test the cowl for leaks before you bought the car?

Thanks! No, I wasn't able to test it, but thanks to DaveB and others here, I knew to look for the signs. I couldn't see any rust or built-up junk through the cowl vents. There is some rust on the corners in front of the doors, but it has been repaired, at least as far as replacing the metal. I'll get some pics up soon, I don't think the bumpers and valances are original. It has a Maverick Grabber hood.

Interesting! The front bumper is from a Maverick and the valance is froma 73. It looks like the Previous Owner just chopped up the original 74 rear bumper and welded on ends. The end caps also look to be the 74's, but cut to allow the bumper closer.

Overall, the body looks really solid! "Dave B" will like the orange interior... Keep us up to date on your progress! I hope you find a grille...

My son actually likes the interior, but I hope to convince him to switch it out for black. If not, anyone got a set of correct front seats in orange?

The seller actually had the original grill, but Chris prefers the one on the car. It's his, I'm just the mechanical consultant/trainer!

You are stuck with the Maverick grill anyway because it matches the Maverick hood :)

He had the original hood and valance too, I just had no way to take them home. If anyone wants them, PM me here, and I'll send you his contact info.

That or "MAVCOM"! He has a weird sense of humor, he might go for it. Anyone know where to get them done?

Front bumper is also a Frankenstein of what used to be a big bumper. Chopped, sectioned.....etc.

"Solid" must be based on where you are located. That car may be solid for Canada, but looks pretty rusty for Kentucky. :D
