I would like to attend another maverick meet but dang it's taking forever to get her back in driving condition... who thought it would take so long to fabricate a decent looking hood scoop, I learned what I should of done the first time around but I'm stubborn and should of just scrapped it and started again instead of trying to forge ahead, the top front half is convex and the rear half is concave, should I bondo it into a convex shape or leave the rear half concave... next a grill, then I get started on the interior, insulation then new carpet...
I didn't end up making it. Other plans were foisted upon me. Anyhow I did see a green Maverick on I-10 yesterday!
I went and had a riot doing burnouts in the Mav. Pretty cool the city turns a blind eye to the shanagans.
Ok all....let's try this again. Who's up for mavericks at Kmart at 67ave and bell rd this Saturday night? I am heading up there early(3:30 or so) for an inliners club meeting and will be hanging around for the show. Also John(olerodder) from California is going to be in town and might make it there...he won't have his maverick though.
I still just have a pile of parts...and tons of wires to hook up! But it is making headway. Not enough headway unfortunately to make it to Kmart this Saturday. Oh and for any of you interested there is the Glendale swapmeet this Sunday.
Yep, this is the big one at GCC. It's only one day this season, October 27th presented by the Vintage Chevy Club. They don't have a starting time listed, but typically between 6 and 7 am is when people arrive.
Do they really sell car parts there or is it more off a swap meet of random junk? Also, Does anyone have a printed circuit or instrument cluster they would sell??
Nope, it is almost all car parts at this swap meet. They have smaller ones once a month, but twice a year they put this big swap meet on. You'll certainly have a fun time. There are tons of used and new performance and stock stuff, but the Maverick parts (like always) are pretty limited. Typically Ryan buys it all up! LOL
thanks for the heads up on the swap meet... Reminded me of going to Veterans stadium in Long Beach....I was really surprised how cheap some stuff was... I ended up spending 600 bux on stuff...lol Got some 15x8 welds for the comet, a victor jr for it and a new in wrapper cheater NOS system minus bottle... Damn that swap meet!
