Getting ready to reinstall wife's engine. It is a 200 -6. I am not very good with engines, was wanting to know what is needed to go back on? I believe it is the egr value (picture). It attaches to the plate that is under the carb. Do I need this. What other things can I get rid of to clean up the engine bay and still operate effectively. I will probably be asking a lot more questions....

The only way you can get rid of that egr plate is if you replace it with an earlier plate off of a car that did not have an egr. Once you do that, you can either replace the entire exhaust manifold, or cap off all the ports in the old one.

So if the egr value is not working it does not effect the running of the car?

BTW Craig gas cap fits car but is upside down.. Going to try to either flip plate that it goes on,I have another filler tube gonna try it. You have any suggestions?

On the EGR...leaving it on there if it doesn't work will cause problems I am sure.

On the gas cap, I would try another fuel neck.
