left turn signal

    Left signal works until I turn headlights on then it stops flashing and gets bright.When I unplug socket it flashes .I ground it gets bright Volt meter has 13.50 until I turn headlights on it goes to 12 volts

    Sounds like a bad bulb to me...or the bulb is in the socket backwards.

    I'll go with Craig on this. It is difficult, but possible to get the bulb in wrong! I'm also assuming this is the left rear signal? When you pull the socket out, you lose the ground and the current back flows through the other lights. It is also possible the socket is wired wrong or the wrong bulb is installed. :)

    I had put one wire regulater on and didn't ground it I thought it being bolted to the engine was OK. I guess you could call it a two wire regulated. Thank for the input.

    Jumped to quick put steering wheel back on . problem came back. bulb in right.

    Found problem when l was re doing the wires back lights got them crossed up. Fix now. Thanks for the responses that I received.

    My analysis of the syptoms were correct...just the wrong diagnosis. :D

    A blinking backup light would have been a good clue...
