First, can I use the harmonic balancer off of my 1984 351w on my 1995 351w?

Second, is the water pump the same on both engines, what I want to know is if the water pump on the 1995 351w is standard rotation and is it the same shaft length?

And finally, how do you remove the oil cooler, it the one that goes between the filter and the block and hooks into the radiator hose.

I found several reasons why this engine was in the Pick N Pull, first of all the crank and bearings were so grooved i'm pretty sure it had very little oil pressure, bottom end was really loose, also the harmonic balancer was seperating (the rubber was pretty loose) and it finished coming apart when I went to pull it with the puller.

The 95's waterpump and timing cover are reverse rotation. The oil cooler comes off by unscrewing the large allen head center bolt. Ditch it, it's probably full of trash you don't want in the engine.

Ok that's what i thought on the water pump/timing cover, thanks for confirming, and I was not keeping that nasty azz oil cooler, pretty sure it FOCBAR (full of crap beyond any removing) just couldn't figure out how it came off, any idea on the harmonic balancer?

Never pull on the outer ring on any harmonic balancer. Use the correct tool

Yeah I looked all over for my "crows foot" puller but could not find it, I could actually see the outer ring was off about 1/8 inch already and looked crooked, the rubber crumbled apart when I got it off, just wondering if the one I have from the 1984 will work, also have one from a 1969 351w.

The balancer should work. All 351W engines were 28oz imbalance.

X 2. All are the same imbalance factor for the 351W

True but if the early cover & pointer are reused the marks on the early balancer will be correct...
